William was born in 1848 in New York. He married Adalaide Grommon on 25 Dec 1878. He died in 1914 in Iowa. He is buried in Oakland Cemetery in Manchester, Iowa.[1]
William Bailey passed away at his home near Spring Branch Tuesday morning, April 28, after a brief illness with pneumonia. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, Rev. H. F. McDonald officiating. Interment will be made in Oakland cemetery.
Mr. Bailey was born at Redwood, New York on August 17, 1848, and came to Delaware county early in life. He was united in marriage to Mrs. John Barry on December 25th, 1878. One daughter was born to this union. Mrs. Bailey's death occurred on April 18, 1914. Mr. Bailey is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Blanche Larson of Delaware, and four sisters, Mrs. Mary Newman and Mrs. S. A. Purvis, of this city, Mrs. Adeline Hunt and Mrs Maggie Miller of New York state.
Mr. Bailey was a pioneer settler of Delaware county and his many friends regret to learn of his death. The bereaved relatives are extended the sincere sympathy of a host of friends.[2]
