Biography

She was born in Ledyard, Conn, in April 1806, daughter of Elijah and Margaret (Fanning) Bailey.[1]

She married Benjamin Franklin Avery (1804-1849) on 25 Feb 1829 at North Stonington, Connecticut. Based on the "Groton Avery Clan" text, they had the following (known) children[1]:

  1. Lucy Ann Avery, b. 13 Jan 1830, Preston, Conn. She m. Russell Damon(1820-1876).
  2. Elisha Benjamin Avery, b. 8 Mar 1832, Stonington, Conn.

Her first husband died in 1834, and she remarried to a (unknown) Collins. [1]

She died October 5th, 1849, in Willimantic, Connecticut. She is buried in Avery Cemetery, in Preston, Connecticut. [2],[1]
