Harry Ether Bailey was born on Dec. 23, 1882, a son of Marian and Rachel (Young) Bailey. Harry graduated from Lizton High School in 1901 and attended a business college in Terre Haute. Harry married Dora Mae Brown in Vigo County, Indiana on Dec. 16, 1903. They owned and operated a farm in northern Union Township where they lived all their married life. They had two children: Buford Emmons Bailey born on June 2, 1906 and Vileta Doyne Bailey born on Nov. 13, 1908.

Lizton Postmaster Died At Home Last Friday

Harry E. Bailey, age 60, postmaster at Lizton for the past seven years, was stricken from a cerebral hemorrhage last Friday evening and died two hours later. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Methodist church at Lizton in charge of the Revs. Bangert and Cecil Platt. Burial was in the Lizton K. of P. cemetery. Born in Lizton, December 23, 1882, Mr. Bailey had spent his entire life in that community. December 16, 1903, he married Dora May Brown. He was a member of the Red Men's and Knights of Pythias lodges. Surviving besides the widow are one son, Buford C. Bailey, one daughter, Miss Vileta Doyne Bailey, one granddaughter, two brothers, Artie M. and Goldie Vesper, one sister, Mrs. Luna Pritchett, all residing near Lizton.
