Henry Ball, who appears to be a son of Thomas and Fanny, was baptized on 20 Oct 1844,[1] raising the question of accurate birthdate for Thomas. Also, Fanny was born, allegedly, in 1803, raising further doubt re: Thomas' birthdate as recorded at FindAGrave[2]
Probably not of this union:
Ann Ball, who appears to be a daughter of Thomas and Fanny, was baptized on 16 Aug 1818.[3] Their Abode was listed in the church registry as Trafford. Thomas' occupation is listed as Farmer.
Note that a gap of 26 years exists between the two baptisms.
1851 census: Yields that a Thomas was working in the "Ag Lab" as were many of his neighbors. They were living in Warsop where son Henry, aged 7, was born, and daughter Marriott, aged 1, and Thomas himself was born as well. Fanny's birthplace is listed as Bilsthorpe, Northamptonshire. Both parents' age is 44, consistent with an 1807 birth.[4]
