HEZEKIAH BALLARD, b. at Andover, 18 Jul 1762 son of Hezekiah Ballard and Lydia Chandler;[1] d. at Andover, 4 Oct 1847;[2][3] m. at Andover, 10 Dec 1783,[4] his first cousin once removed, MARY “MOLLY” CHANDLER , b. at Andover, 4 Apr 1764 daughter of Zebadiah Chandler and Deborah Blanchard;[5] Molly d. at Andover, 30 Mar 1834.[6]
Hezekiah was the youngest of ten children of Deacon Hezekiah Ballard and Lydia Chandler. He married Molly Chandler the youngest of seven children of Zebadiah Chandler and Deborah Blanchard.
Hezekiah was a farmer as was his father. On 31 March 1784, Hezekiah Ballard, Jr. husbandman purchased 40 acres in Andover on Foster’s pond brook, so called, from his father Hezekiah Ballard yeoman for payment of £66.[7] In his will, Hezekiah’s father bequeathed to Hezekiah one-half of the dwelling house and bequeathed all his land on the easterly side of the Boston road to his grandson Joshua son of Hezekiah.[8]
The household of Hezekiah Ballard, Jr. of Andover was five persons in 1790: one male 16 and over, two males under 16, and two females.[9]
On 10 April 1804, Hezekiah Ballard, in consideration of $500, conveyed to his son Joshua Ballard a minor the 40-acre tract on Foster’s pond brook which he purchased from his father as well as the westerly half of the dwelling house and barn.[10]
Hezekiah Ballard and Molly Chandler had eight children all born at Andover.

iv HANNAH FRYE BALLARD, b. 2 Aug 1791; d. at Andover, 7 Jul 1836; m. 8 May 1834, as his second wife, her first cousin, CHANDLER PHELPS, b. at Andover, 5 Mar 1786 son of Henry and Mary (Ballard) Phelps; Chandler d. at Andover, 27 Dec 1868. Chandler Phelps was first married to LYDIA PARKHURST, b. at Temple, NH, 4 Oct 1789 daughter of Andrew of Lydia (Chandler) Parkhurst; Lydia d. at Andover, 6 Sep 1830.
v DORCAS BALLARD, b. 17 Dec 1793; d. 19 Jan 1796.
vi SARAH BALLARD, b. 17 Jan 1793; d. 15 Apr 1801.
vii HEZEKIAH BALLARD, b. 31 Aug 1796; d. at Wakefield, 21 Dec 1837; m. SUSAN BROWN, b. at Boxford, 22 Jun 1788 daughter of John and Susan (-) Brown;[11] Susan d. at Reading, 6 Dec 1852. Hezekiah and Susan did not have children as indicated in his probate record stating “leaving a widow and without issue.”
