Biography

Wendell Bancroft was born in Reading, Massachusetts, on August 7, 1830, the son of Timothy Bancroft and Rhoda Emerson.[1]

He married first, Julia Temple, daughter of Timothy and Sophronia W. Temple, in Reading on January 6, 1853.[2] She died in 1856.

He married second, Nancy J. Eaton.

Wendell died of "influenza," probably in the pandemic of 1918, in Reading on December 22, 1918, aged 88.[3] He is buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Reading.
