Alice Barber, daughter of William Barber and Emma Plush, was born on 22 January 1879 in Lochiel, Clare, South Australia. ^{[1] [2]}

Alice (age 26, daughter of William Barber) married Charles Henry Thurston (age 32, son of Charles Thurston) on 26 April 1905 in the Residence of William Barber, Lochiel, Daly, South Australia. ^[3] Their marriage was reported in The Advertiser (Adelaide, SA : 1889 - 1931) 6 May 1905 (page 6): ^[4]

THURSTON—BARBER.—On the 26th April at Lochiel, by the Rev. A. J. Finch, Charles Henry, second surviving son of Charles Thurston, Lochiel to Alice, eldest daughter of William Barber, Lochiel.
