Platt has sometimes been shown as a son of Abel Barnum and Annis Turner, probably based upon an entry in The Barnum Family 1907, which shows a Platt Barnum as one of their children. However, that entry shows no birth date for Platt and the date given here is within one year of Abel's own birth date.
The actual parentage of Platt is unknown.

Scott Barnum
Can someone double check parents of Platt or his DOB. Right now it shows his father was born a year after Platt was born. His mother was born when he was six years old.
