LaFayette was born in 1883. He is the son of Clark Bartlett and Caroline Couch. ^[1]

—Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Hendrick's home is the Mecca to which their newly-manled friends and relatives turn. Two weeks ago her brother was married in Sodus and drove directly to their place, and then was summoned home by a telephone, saying his father was sick and he was needed. Last week Fay Bartlett and Edith VanArsdalo were married and expected to drive to their home the same night, but they were so entertained that they could not get out of town, but early next morning they drove the length of West Port Bay street to their home, with an old boot swinging from the back axle of their carriage, which some of their good friends had succeeded In tying on for good luck, and they drove the entire four miles without knowing it.

FAY BARTLETT DIES ON SUNDAY

Fay Bartlett, 81. of 96 N. Main St.. died Sunday in Cortland Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born April 2. 1883 in Wolcott, New York, he was the son of Clark and Caroline Couch Bartlett. He was married to the former Miss Edith McQueen who died in 1951.

He came to Cortland 55 years ago (1909) and worked in the plumbing and heating and tinsmith trades. After his retirement, he became Cortland's first plumbing inspector.

He was a member of the First Methodist Church.

Surviving are his son, Ross Bartlett. and a grandson. Gary Bartlett, both of Cortland, one niece and one nephew.

Services and burial was on Wednesday in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, NY.
