William Barton was born in Nottinghamshire, England.
William Barton migrated from England to United States.
William was born on November 4, 1886, in Basford, Nottinghamshire, England. He was the son of Joseph Barton, and Florence Helen Shaw. On the 1920 US Census, William declares his year of emigration to America as 1898. He further states he became a Naturalized Citizen of the United States in 1918. Documentation for either event has yet to be found. There is a Baptism record dated April 1, 1899, from the Church of the Good Shepherd (Episcopal), in Philadelphia, which would lend credence to a 1898 emigration. William married Anna (Annie) Little in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1913. The couple would have two sons, William, born in 1915, and James, born in 1919. William's wife, Annie, passed away in Philadelphia in 1935. He never remarried, and remained in Philadelphia until his death on July 24, 1953, at age sixty six. He passed away at Episcopal Hospital, on Lehigh Avenue. His address at the time of his death was 1918 E. Atlantic Street, Philadelphia, his place of residence since at least 1930. The cause of death was "Bilateral Bronchopneumonia",
He was buried on July 28th at Forest Hills Cemetery, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
