Pvt. Isaac Bartrug alias Barting was the son of Daniel Bartrug (1796-1856) and Mary Leezer (1804-1890).[1]

Isaac was enlisted in the Confederate Army with Company A, 19th Virginia Cavalry. [2]

Pvt. Bartrug was captured by the Union Army and imprisoned in Camp Chase, where he died on 26 April 1863. He is buried in the Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery, space 2111. [3]
