William was born in 1820. His parents were George and Elizabeth Bates. He was christened on 2 April 1820 at St Martin, Tipton, Staffordshire[1]

William Bate and Lydia Whale married on 15 February 1841 at Christ Church, West Bromwich, Staffordshire.[2]

William passed away in 1881.[3]
