Biography
Sophia "Sophy" Batterby aka Batterbee was born on 13 Jun 1850 in Weasenham All Saints or Rougham, Norfolk, England to William Batterby and Fanny (Adcock) Batterby. Her birth was registered in Mitford, Norfolk in the third quarter of the year [as Sophia Batterbee], with mother's maiden name Adcock.[1]
Sophia Batterby, daughter of William, a servant, & Frances, was christened on 21 Jul 1850 in Weasenham All Saints.[2]
In 1851 Sophia Batterbee (age 0) lived in Rougham with her mother Fanny (24, Groom Wife), sister Mary Ann (3), and visitor Sarah Adcock (70, Pauper).[3]
In 1861 Sopha Batterbee (age 11, Scholar) lived at Victoria Road in Chesterton, Cambridgeshire with her father William (39, Coachman Domestic), mother Fanny (33), and three siblings: Mary (13, Scholar), Sarah B (9, Scholar), and Charles (6, Scholar).[4]
In 1871 Sophy Battersbee (age 19 [~21], Servant) lived in Colne, Lancashire in the household of her employer James Bolton.[5]
Sophy Batterber married Charles Emmines in 1873. The marriage was registered in Leeds, Yorkshire in the last quarter of the year.[6]
In 1881 Sophy Emmines (age 29 [~31]) lived at York St in Cambridge St Andrew The Less, Cambridgeshire with her husband Charles (30, Tailor) and five children: William C (6, Scholar), Ellen B (4, Scholar), Lucy (3, Scholar), Charles H (2), and Alfred M (0).[7]
In 1891 Sophy Emmines (age 39 [~41]) lived at Quickett Street in Bromley, London with her husband Charles (40, Tailor) and six children: William C (17, Brush Maker), Ellen B (15, Scholar), Lucy (13, Scholar), Charles H (12, Scholar), Arthur (9, Scholar), and Henry (5, Scholar).[8]
In 1901 Sophia Emmins (age 49 [~51]) lived in London St Mary le Bow with her six children: William (26, Brush Maker), Ellen (24, Cook Domestic), Lucy (22, Laundress), Charles (21, Printer Compositor), Harry (15, Tailor), and Tommy (9).[9]

Sophy's husband passed away in 1920.
Sophia Emmines married William H Brumby in 1921. The marriage was registered in Cambridge in the second quarter of the year.[10]
Sophia Brumby passed away on 20 Dec 1933, aged 83 years. Her death was registered in Cambridge in the last quarter of the year.[11]
