Lois B. Shank, 83, of Whitehall, formerly of Allentown, passed away September 23, 2012 in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late Glenn A. Shank. Born in Middletown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Mildred (Bingaman) Baum. She was a graduate of the Harrisburg Polyclinic School of Nursing. Lois was a head nurse at the former Allentown Hospital, until retiring to raise her family. Prior to that, she was a nurse at the Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital. She was a former member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Allentown, and was a current member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Allentown. Lois was a member of the Allentown Womens Club. Survivors: Son, Thomas A. Shank and his wife Anna of Scotia, NY; daughter, Pamela S. wife of David Zaprazny of Mountain Top, PA; brother, Fred Baum and his wife Loretta of Roanoke, VA; sister, June Bomberger of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Matthew, Timothy, and Emily Zaprazny, Valerie and Melanie Shank; and a great-granddaughter, Allison Zaprazny. Services: Memorial Service will be held on Friday, at 11 a.m. at the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home 16th and Hamilton Sts. Allentown. Call Friday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Fellowship Community, 3000 Fellowship Dr. Whitehall, PA 18052.
