The death occurred in Lewisham Hospital, Wagga, early Wednesday morning of Mr. Frederick William Baxter, of 90 Best-street, Wagga, at the age of 72 years. Mr. Baxter was born at Shoalhaven but had resided practically all his life in Junee, Coolamon and Wagga. For many years he was in the employ of the Railways department at Junee, and he married Miss Elisabeth A. Longmore, of Junee. In his younger years he followed shearing and was well known throughout the State. He was of a quiet and homely disposition and had enjoyed good health all his life until 10 months ago. For the past two weeks he had been a patient at Lewisham Hospital. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Baxter, seven sons, Messrs. William J. Baxter of Best-street, Wagga; Roy of Canberra; Horace of Fitzmaurice-street, Wagga; Robert and Leslie, of Stockinbingal; Alfred, of Best-street, Wagga; and Cecil Baxter, of South Melbourne; and three daughters, Mrs. R. G. Wooden, of Sunshine-avenue, Wagga; Mrs. W. Cedric, of Stockinbingal; and Mrs. C. Dover, of Burrandana. After a service starting at 10.45, the funeral cortege will move from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Wagga, at 11 o'clock this morning for the Wagga cemetery.
