Biography
Charlotte Elizabeth Bear was born in 1843 in St George in the East, Middlesex, England to William Castor Bear and Charlotte (Godart) Bear. Her birth was registered in Saint George in the East in the last quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Godart.[1]
Charlotte Elizabeth Bear, daughter of William Caster Bear & Charlotte, was christened on 29 Oct 1843 at Saint Dunstan and All Saints Church in Stepney, Middlesex.[2][3]
Note: she was thought to be the daughter of Frederick Edward Bear (c1825-1901) and Charlotte (Dolwin) Bear (c1826-1891) based on a different match on the 1861 census. Their daughter was Charlotte (Bear) Worth (1847-1889).
In 1851 Charlotte Bean [Bear] (age 7, Dress Maker) lived at Anthony Street in St George in the East with her father William C (34, Painter & Glazier), mother Charlotte (33, Dress Maker), brother William (2), and two visitors: Joseph Williams (75, Shoe Maker) and Elizabeth Hill (67, Shoe Maker).[4]
In 1861 Charlotte Bear (age 17) was a visitor at Buriton Street in Petersfield, Hampshire in the household of Catherine Welsh (38, Infant School Mistress).[5]
Charlotte E Bear married James C Dalman on 15 Sep 1866 in Leyton, Essex. The marriage was registered in West Ham, Essex in the third quarter of the year.[6]

Charlotte Florence (Dalman) Williscroft (1868-1956)
Ernest Harold "Jack" Dalman (1884-1936) [emigrated to Canada]
In 1871 Charlotte E Dalman (age 27) lived in Leyton with her husband James C (27, Manager), daughter Charlotte E (2), son Charles W (0), and servant Eliza Ridge (15, Domestic Servant).[7]
In 1881 Charlotte Eliz Tolman [Dalman] (age 37) lived at Coventry Road in Yardley, Worcestershire with her husband James Charles (37, Iron Founders Manager) and four children: Charlotte Florence (12, Scholar), Chas Geo Wm (10, Scholar), James Harry (6, Scholar), and Arthur Percy (4, Scholar), as well as servant Jane Satchwell (19, General Servant).[8]
In 1891 Charlotte E Dalman (age 47) lived at Grantham Road in Bordesley, Warwickshire with her husband James C (47, Iron Founder) and six children: Charlotte F (22), Charles W (20, Ironfounders Assistant), James M (16, Ironfounders Assistant), Arthur P (14, Scholar), Frank H (9, Scholar), and Ernest H (6, Scholar), as well as servant Sarah H Woodhouse (17, General Servant Domestic).[9]
In 1901 Charlotte E Dalman (age 75) lived at Victoria Road in Yardley with her husband James C (57, Iron Founder) and four children: Charlotte F (32), Charles W (30, Iron Founder), Arthur P (24, Clerk Ironfounder), and Ernest H (16, Modeller Ironfounder), as well as servant Ellen Clark (15, General Domestic).[10]
Charlotte E Dalman passed away in 1905, aged 62 years. Her death was registered in Solihull, Warwickshire in the last quarter of the year.[11]
