Biography
Martha was born at Rives Junction, Jackson County, Michigan in 1849. She was the daughter of Ann Phelps (b. 1829) and William L. Beardsley (1824-1855) who were married at Rives Junction on 14 Jun 1847 by Justice of the Peace Charles Beardsley. Martha married Henry W. Hawley (1848-1927) at Rives Junction in 1868. Eventually, the Hawleys moved west and lived in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri before settling down in Colorado. Their family included one daughter and three sons: Adah P. Hawley Wilson (1869 - 1942); William Perry Hawley (1871 - 1948); Frank Ronald Hawley (1873 - 1960); and Edwin LeRoy Hawley (1877 - 1962). Martha passed away at Boulder, Colorado in 1917 and was laid to rest at Green Mountain cemetery. [1]
