James Beattie was born on 8 January 1882 in Murchison, Victoria, Australia, the son of Mary (Harrington) Beattie and James Beattie.[1]
Marriage. At the age of 22, he married 17-year-old Tabitha Delarue on 18 February 1904 in Colac, Victoria.[2]
They had six children in 11 years, including:.[3]
Death. James died on 1 May 1959 in Colac, aged 76 years.[4]
James's occupation at the time of his death was recorded as a labourer. Had a saw mill at Beech Forest, near Colac.
Insolvency of the business filed at Colac in March 1909.
Religion was Church of England. Lived at Yeo, Kawarren, Colac.
Used to get old clocks from the Colac Tip and fix them up.
Buried Colac cemetery, plot; CLC-GEN-27-807-19. His wife Tabitha is in the same grave plot.
