Biography

Marie Edna Beaudoin was born in 1895 in Rochester, New Hampshire, USA, to French-Canadian immigrants Aurele Beaudoin and Delia (baptized Audelie) Sylvain.^[1] She was called Edna. She grew up in Rochester with her parents and 11 siblings.^[2]

In 1925 in Somersworth, Edna married Joseph Felix (Leo F.) Ruel, son of French-Canadian immigrants Louis Ruel and Virginie Marcoux.^[3] They settled in Somersworth, where Leo ran a fuel delivery business, and brought up three children.^[4]

Leo died in 1953. Edna continued to help run the fuel delivery company.^[5] She died in Portsmouth in 1995, 99 years old, and was buried at Mount Calvaire Cemetery in Somersworth.^[6][7]
