Ellen (Beck) Girvan was born in Ireland.

Ellen was born in 1868, Aughnaloopy, Kilkeel, Co Down. Parents being Hugh Beck and Margaret Hanna. ^[1]

1891 Ellen Beck, age full, spinster, residence Maghery, married Alexander Girvan, age full, bachelor, occupation Carpenter, residence Belfast. The marriage was solemnized at the Mourne Presbyterian Church, Kilkeel, Co Down. Witnesses Annie Bowsie and her sister Mary Margaret Beck. ^[2]
