Robert Dimmitt Beeson was born in about 1800 in North Carolina, His parentage is uncertain, Speculation is that he is the son of Richard and Abigail Dimmitt Beeson, or the son of Richard’s child Abner. He married Amy McDaniel and they had four children together. Some time before 1860 Robert and Amy separated or divorced. He then married Nancy and they had one son together. He probably died in Randolph County, North Carolina. Other than the 1860 census giving birth place as Tennessee, there is no indication that Robert lived out of Randolph County.
