"DENVER – Laura Higginbottom, 92, a former Lawrence resident, died Oct. 31 at the Glen Ayr Health Center here. Services were held at the Southwest Bible Chapel in Denver.
"Mrs. Higginbottom was born Aug. 26, 1892, in Bond County, Ill.
"While living in Lawrence, she worked as a clerk in many stores and cooked at the former Liberty Memorial High School and the Kansas Union cafeteria.
"In 1956, she moved from Lawrence to Denver with her husband, Elmer. He died in 1961.
"She was a 27-year member of Denver’s Southwest Bible Chapel.
"Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Zelina Hickox, Arvada, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Shellabarger, Wheatridge, Colo; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren." [1]
