Joseph was born in 1828. He passed away in 1882.
13 January 1882 Obituary. Mr Joseph Moulden Belcher, for many years post and telegraph master at Burra and who retired about a year ago, died 3 January in North Adelaide. He had a stroke some time ago and just before his death suffered two more. His eldest son is the post and telegraph master at Terowie. (http://www.burrahistory.info/BurraPioneers.htm)
