Chester was born in 1928. He was the son of Stoney Bell and Ida Slaven. He passed away in 2005.
On Friday, November 4, 2005, Chester F. Bell, 77, was called home to be with the Lord at his residence in Selma.He was born July 20, 1928, in McCreary County, Kentucky, the son of Stoney and Ida Slaven Bell, and moved to Muncie in 1951.Mr. Bell was employed by General Motors for twenty-nine years retiring in 1988 from Chevrolet-Muncie. He was a member of Avondale Sympathy Club.Surviving are his loving wife, Betty J. Hill Bell, to whom he had been married 56 years; his daughter, Pauline Smith, (husband, Gary), Muncie; two grandsons, Joey Smith, (wife, Lori), and Doug Smith, (wife, Kris), all of Ft. Wayne; two great grandchildren, Allison and Alex Smith, both of Ft. Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by three brothers; and one sister.Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Parson Mortuary, 801 W. Adams Street, with Pastor Hoyt Davis officiating.Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery.Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday or an hour prior to the services at the mortuary on Monday.
