Giuseppe Salvatore Bellomo, a shoemaker, is born on 13 March 1847 in Cefalù to Carmelo Bellomo, a shoemaker, and Concetta Testa.[1] Carmelo dies in Cefalu in 1869.[2]
Salvatore and his wife, Marianna Nicolosi, daughter of a shoemaker, have at least five children: Concetta (1875), Liborio (1879), Gioachino (1882), Paola (1885), and Giuseppe (1887).
Concetta is born 1 March 1875 in Corleone and baptized the next day. Her godparents are Angelo Governali and Vincenza Ferro.[3]

Gioachino is born and baptized on 9 August 1882 in Corleone. His godparents are Francesco di Benedetto and Nicolena Butera.[5]
Gioachino’s birth is reported by his father, Giuseppe Salvatore Bellomo, age 35 (b. 1847), calzolajo, on 9 August 1882 in Corleone to is wife Marianna Nicolosi, an industriosa, in their home at via Carrazzene, #15. Giuseppe is born 2 October 1887 in Corleone and baptized the next day. Although his godfather's given name is missing from Giuseppe's baptismal record, he and his wife are a match for Gioachino Bellomo and Caterina Gabriele.[8]
According to a note on his baptismal record, Gioachino marries in Palermo in San Antonio parish on 5 December 1908 to Francesca Paola Pipia, daughter of Nicolo’.[5]
A margin note in his baptismal record says that Liborio marries Biagia di Blanda on 7 June 1914 in the chiesa di S. Lucia on East 104th St., in New York.[4] This is confirmed in the civil record.
Liborio is reportedly 33 (b. 1881) when he marries Biagia Di Blanda on 7 June 1914 in Manhattan.[9]
