Biography

Cynthia Ethel Benedict was born on 4 May 1874 in Williamstown, Orange County, Vermont. She was the daughter of Ezra Benedict and his wife Aurora Maria Howe.

She attended Goddard Seminary in Barre, Vermont, and taught district school for one term before her marriage. ^[1]

She married Orville D. Bosworth. According to the town vital records, on 16 January 1895, at age 20, "E. Ethel Benedict," daughter of Ezra Benedict and Aura M. (Howe) Benedict Burnham, married "Orville I. Bosworth" at Williamstown, Vermont, with Rev. A. M. Smith as the officiant.^[1][2] The couple lived in Williamstown, Vermont, after their marriage. He was a farmer there. She was a Universalist and sang in the church choir.^[1]

Ethel died at age 90 on 21 Mar 1965 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California; she was buried in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Los Angeles, California.
