Obituary

Douglas W. Betts, 63, of Bradenton, passed away March 6, 2005. He was a retired Deputy Sheriff for the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, a trainer with the Sheriff's Office, a weightlifter, bodybuilder, and a member of Masonic F & AM, Lodge No. 31 and the Egypt Temple Shrine. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Tampa. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of Bradenton; son, Jonathan Douglas, of North Port, Fla.; daughter, Lori Lynn, of Bradenton; five brothers, Drexel, of St. Petersburg, and Dean, David, Phillip and Charles, all of Tampa; sister, Donna Jean, of Loganville, Ga.; and five grandchildren.^[1]
