Biography

Edoardo Bianco has Italian Roots.

Edoardo was born about 1860 in Leinì, Turin, Piedmont, Italy. He died in Torino, Turin, Piedmont, Italy.

A story of Edoardo Bianco and his wife Maria Gais appeared in the book titled "Marchello and Goffo and Related Families" published in 1995. The story follows with the author's (Robert Bradley Clark) permission.

"Maria Gays and Edoardo Bianco both grew up in Italy in Leini, a small village near Torino. This area was near the picturesque Italian Alps. Maria and Edoardo married and their children were Caroline, Silvio and Delfina Bianco. The children were all born in Leini. It is unclear whether there were other Bianco children who remained in Italy. Caroline, Silvio and Delfina came to America and settled in western Pennsylvania. They first lived in Luxor, a small town near Pittsburgh. Coal mines in the area provided work for many of the residents.

Edoardo Bianco was born and lived in the Piedmont region of Italy.
The old folks, Maria and Edoardo Bianco, remained in Italy. Maria’s sister Dominica married Giuseppe Marchello and they lived nearby. Several of the Marchello children were born in Leini. Dominica and Giuseppe and most of the Marchello family remained in Italy.
[The story of Domenica Gais and Giuseppe Marchello children who went to America, those who returned to Italy, and the child who remained in America can be found here. Domenica Gais]
Many of the descendants of Maria and Edoardo Bianco continue to live in the Pittsburgh area today. Some live in Westmoreland County in towns like Arnold and New Kensington. Others live in Allegheny County in Natrona Heights, Springdale and Pittsburgh. Still others have scattered to new areas such as Johnstown, Pennsylvania and Madison, Wisconsin and even to New Mexico. This hard working Italian family had three children come to America around the turn of the century [1900]. No doubt they were filled with the fears of an uncertain future and the agonizing pain of leaving family behind. Today the generations which have followed the turn-of-the-century immigrants have become a part of the American fabric." [1]
