Referred to as 'Captain Biddulph' by Burke's genealogies and was definitely a soldier but actual rank unconfirmed. With his regiment, Michael travelled extensively before settling again at the family seat of Elmhurst near Lichfield in Staffordshire. The Parliamentary histories give him as a Royalist Cavalier.
He was a popular figure in his later years and was elected to the seat of Lichfield in Parliament.
He was unmarried and died without issue.[3]
