Dorothy E. Wanner, 79, of 121 Parker St., Carlisle, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at her home. Born on March 23, 1920, in Columbia, Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Lyman J. and Lilian Berger Biggs.

She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Carlisle, and for many years was a member of the church choir and was an accomplished soloist. She was a member of AARP; former member of boards of directors of the Carlisle Day Care Center and the YWCA, Carlisle, and was a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

Mrs. Wanner is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard H. Wanner; two sons, Thomas R. Wanner of Beloit, Wis.; Jack R. Wanner of Carlisle; a daughter, Ann L. Moser of Carlisle; a brother, Jack W. Biggs of Syracuse, N.Y., and nine grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, in the Second Presbyterian Church, 528 Garland Drive, Carlisle, with the Rev. James A. Gilchrist officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Westminster Memorial Gardens, North Middleton Township.

There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends following the memorial service on Tuesday at the church.
