Biography

Mary Ann was born in 1820. she was the daughter of Parsons Billings (1787 - 1867) and Eunice Alden Billings (1795 - 1874).. She was the second oldest of six siblings:

  1. Lucina Billings Chatfield (1818 - 1897)
  2. Mary Ann Billings New (1820 - 1872)
  3. Parsons Billings (1823 - 1911)
  4. William Billings (1827 - 1909)
  5. Willard Billings (1831 - 1885)
  6. Russell New Billings (1838 - 1926)

Mary Ann was the first wife of John Russell New, whom she married on Dec. 7, 1839, in Cornwall, Addison, VT, and with whom she had four known children:

  1. Mary Ellen New (1841 - 1863)
  2. Emerette Martha New Fisher (1843 - 1922)
  3. Alice Elmira New Morse (1845 - 1930)
  4. Ida May New (1863 - 1872)

Mary Ann passed away in 1872 and is buried at Cook Cemetery Ripton, Addison County, Vermont, USA.
