Henry Michael Billmeyer was born 14 Jun 1863 in Bavaria, Germany, the son of Ernst Josef Billmeyer and Wilhelmina Schmidt. He immigrated to America in 1887 at the age of 24, and settled in Shelby, Milwaukee, and Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Henry ran an insurance and tourism agency and led European tours, especially to Germany. He also served on the County Board of Supervisors from 1925 to 1931.
On 27 Apr 1889 he married Caroline Springer (1856-1932). Following Caroline's death on 29 Jun 1932, Henry married Hermie Clyde Bassett, widow of Elisha Polk Sperry and Frank Smith Finkle, on 18 Oct 1933. There were no children from either marriage. Henry passed away 2 May 1945 in Oshkosh, age 82.
