John married Sara Allison Borden on 14 Oct 1902 in Westmorland, New Brunswick, Canada. Their son was Robert Snowball Black (1903 - 1972).
John married Alice Joy Charters , daughter of Silas Crane Charters, on 17 Mar 1909 in Sackville, Westmorland. Their son was Lieut. John Alexander Hood Black (1916 - 1944).
John died on 25 Oct 1916 in Sackville aged ~41. He is buried in Sackville Rural Cemetery, Sackville.
Councilor, recruiter in WW1. Managed family business.
