Lauretta Marie PAGE and Raymond Lionel BLAIN were married on April 24, 1937 in St. Rose de Lima Church, Chicopee, Massachusetts.1 They met on a blind date at a Civilian Conservation Corps dance in Chicopee. When Dad asked my grandfather (Edward L. Page) for my mother's hand in marriage, he asked him for his blessing in the chicken coop. Raymond Lionel BLAIN, son of Moise Joseph BLAIN and Philomène GOYETTE, was born on February 23, 1911 in Chicopee, Massachusetts.1 Born at home. He lived at 55 Marcelle St. in Chicopee, Massachusetts after February 23, 1911. He received first communion on May 26, 1918 in St. Rose de Lima Church, Chicopee, Massachusetts. Raymond lived at 23 Hillside Ave in Chicopee, Massachusetts between 1930 and 1932. He lived at 656 McKinstry Ave. in Chicopee, Massachusetts in 1933. From 1939 to 1942 he was a Miller at Savage Arms in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Dad got his 1st car in 1947! Between 1945 and 1976 Raymond was a Bus Driver in Springfield, Massachusetts. Springfield Street Railway Company. Member of Transit Union of Springfield. They saw John & Jackie Kennedy in the late 1950's while marching in the Holyoke St. Patrick Day Parade in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He lived at 165 East Main St. Apt #410 in Chicopee, Massachusetts from 1977 to 1979. My Dad suffered a heart attack on September 27, 1979 in Cohoes, New York while at a car auction with his brother-in- law Hector O. Page. He died of a Heart Attack on October 17, 1979 at the age of 68 in Springfield, Massachusetts.1 Raymond was also known as Mickey BLAIN. He was buried in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Chicopee, Massachusetts. Section B, Lot #28 (grave # 1, buried over his grandfather). Member of the Elks, Lodge #1849, and the Laurier Club, both of Chicopee, Massachusetts.
