Janet Blair, born perhaps circa 1716, was a daughter of William Blair, Esq., and his second wife Catherine Tait.
In his account of the Blairs of that Ilk, Robert Douglas writes, "Barbara, married to Alexander Tait, Efq.; one of the principal clerks of feffion, by whom fhe hath iffue three fons, Alexander, William, and John." Likewise, in his account of the Blairs in his history of Ayrshire, James Paterson identifies Barbara's husband as "Alexander Tait, one of the Principal Clerks of Session" and says they had issue, but Paterson does not name any of their children.
