David was born on 7 May 1777^[1] in Hampton, Rockingham, New Hampshire, United States. He was the son of Jonathan Blake Sr and Mary (Brown) Blake.^[2]

David married 1st, Eleanor Seavey^[2] 20 September 1801.^[1] The couple had at least eight children;^[2]
