Madlyn (Blank) Rutherford was born in New York, USA.

Madlyn E Blank was born about Feb 1904 in New York, USA^[1] to a New York-born father and a mother, born either in Northern Ireland^[2]) or Germany.^[3] (discrepancy issue)

Parents have yet to be identified. See research notes re: possible mother.

In 1915, Madlyn Blank (11) is seen living within the household of Philip Glock Sr. (51), who was born in New York to German-born mother and New York-born father. Others shown as living in the same household on Madison Street in Hoboken, Hoboken, New Jersey were: Nora Glock (31) - who was shown as having been born in Ireland to Ireland-born parents and whose maiden name has yet to be found, Philip Glock Jr. (1) - born in New Jersey to Germany-born father and Austria-born mother, Frank Blank (12) - b Dec 1902, William Blank (9) - b Jan 1906, Mary Blank (7) - b Jul 1907, and Edward (6) - b Jan 1909. Madalene (sic) Blank (i.e. Madlyn Blank), Frank, William, Mary, and Edward Blank all appear to be born to the same New York-born father and Germany-born mother. The relationship between the Blank children and the Glock.famly is not shown.^[3]

Madeline married William T Rutherford (abt.1899-bef.1940) about 1924. (Relationship as spouse inferred.) Marriage year estimated using 1930 Census indicating that she was age 26 and married at age 19 and first-born son 5 years old in 1930.^[2] Still needs Marriage Record substantiation.

In 1930 William (30) and Madlyn (26) were living in a rented home at 737 Garden Street in Hoboken, Hudson, New Jersey with their 4 children - William T Rutherford (abt.1899-bef.1940) (5), Florence Margaret (Rutherford) Gerbehy (1925-1994) (5), Madeline (2), and Eugene (1). William worked as a ship fitter. They did not own a radio.^[2]

In 1940, Madeline (35) is widowed and living on Park Avenue in Hoboken, New Jersey and working as a cleaner for a government business. Her highest grade of school completed was 4th grade level. Life had to be difficult - she was not head of household and caring for her 6 children alone at age 35. Childredn were shown as: William (16), Florence (15), Madeline (13), Eugene (11), Catherine Marie or E (Rutherford) McGrath (1931-1992) (9) and Mary (6).^[4]

Madlyn Rutherford died at age 64-65, on 13 Jun 1969 in Hoboken, Hudson, New Jersey, USA^[5] and was placed at eternal rest at the Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum in North Arlington, Bergen, New Jersey, USA^[1]
