all American Bledsoe come from one man, they settled at least three states including Missouri. SC. Virginia. Kentucky. Tennessee. including African American Bledsoe, owned slaves for many generations, but fought both sides of the conflict.
one case is a private Bledsoe killed in the raid on Lawrence kansas which his own uncle William Bledsoe who took part in the raid one of Quantrils man.. William Bledsoe died a few months after the Lawrence raid and is buried in the Baxter cemetery in an unmarked grave.'
