Biography

When Martha "Patty" Blood Goodell was born on July 7, 1794, in Charlton City, Massachusetts, her father, Isaiah, was 42, and her mother, Martha, was 38.^[1] She married Asa Goodell (1788–1876) on August 29, 1813, in Sturbridge, Massachusetts.^[2] They had ten children:

• Hosea Blood Goodell (1816–1877)^[3]
• Lorenzo Dow Goodell (1818–1892)^[4]
• Caroline Monica Goodell Upham (1820–1897)^[5]

• Asa Goodell (1828–1829)
• Joseph Goodell (1836–1863)^[8]

She died on July 28, 1877, in Woodstock, Connecticut,^[10] having lived a long life of 83 years, and was buried there.^[11]
