Biography

Catherine Elizabeth Blunden was born on 24 November 1869. She was the younger daughter of Trevor Blunden and Elizabeth Jones.

In the 1871 Canada Census, Catherine Blunden (aged 2) was recorded living with her father Trevor Blunden (35 and a Farmer), her mother Elizabeth Blunden (30) and her two siblings Annie Blunden (7) and Thomas Blunden (5) at Plympton, Lambton, Ontario^[1].

Her father Trevor died on 11 May 1874 at about age 39.

She married Thomas Sheridan on 30 June 1897 at Plympton, Lambton, Ontario, Canada^[2].

They went on to have at least five children.

In the Canada Census of 1901, Katherine Sheridan (aged 38) was recorded living with her husband Thomas Sheridan (41 and a Farmer) and their two young children Loyd Sheridan (2) and Isla Sheridan (b. 1 Jan 1901) at Grey Township, Huron, Ontario. Also in the household was her widowed mother-in-law Margaret Sheridan (61)^[3].

In the Canada Census of 1911, Catherine Sheridan (aged 41) was recorded living with her husband Thos Sheridan (50) and their five children Loyd Sheridan (13), Isla Sheridan (10), Reta Sheridan (7), Minnie Sheridan (5) and Edward Sheridan (1) in Lambton West Sub-Districts 1-37, Ontario^[4].

In the Canada Census of 1931, Katharine Sheridan (aged 61) was recorded living with her husband Thomas Sheridan (72) at Plympton, Ontario. Also in the household was their unmarried daughter Isla Sheridan (30)^[5].

Her husband Thomas passed away in 1938. Her daughter Isla died on 27 July 1946.

Catherine Elizabeth Sheridan passed away in 1958 and was buried with her late husband at Beechwood Cemetery, Forest, Lambton County, Ontario, Canada^[6].
