Milo Bolton, a well known and esteemed citizen of Leicester, in which he has resided for more than half a century, is a native of Vermont. He is engaged in the card clothing business from which he derives an income that is ample to supply his family with the necessaries and some of the comforts of life. He is a member of the Congregational church, and a Republican in politics.

Mr. Bolton married Mary A. Loring, born in Leicester, Massachusetts, in 1833, a daughter of John and Eliza (Ayers) Loring, who were the parents of four children. John Loring was born in Spencer, December 10, 1795. The death of his wife occurred January 26, 1839. Mr. Loring married (second), May 12, 1839, Clarinda Reed, born in Rutland, Massachusetts, December 4, 1806, died March 7, 1884, leaving 3 children. Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Bolton, namely: Walter E. married to Jennie Tilden, of Hyde Park, Massachusetts, and one son was the issue, Milo Oscar Bolton; Herbert L., Oscar, Fred Augustus, a farmer by occupation, married Dora Brown, and resides at Monroe, New Hampshire. Mrs. Bolton, the mother of these children, received her education at the academy in Leicester, and prior to her marriage taught school in that town for eight years, including one winter in Cherry Valley. ^[3]

Milo Bolton was born in Newbury, Vt. , August 2,1832. He moved to Leicester, Massachusetts, and married first, Ann Jeanette Woodard, September 10, 1856. Mr. Bolton married second, Mary A. Loring, at Leicester, March 27, l864. Mr. Bolton was a cardmaker in the card clothing firm of W.& J. Whittemore. They were member of a church in Worcester. ^[4]
