Obituary

BOONE, Hedley — Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Friday, May 30, 2008, Hedley Boone, aged 85 years. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Ruby (nee Bowring); brothers, Melvin and Daniel; and sister, Greta. Leaving to mourn with loving memories, son, Darrell and daughter-in-law, Carol; two wonderful granddaughters, Hannah and Nora, who were Poppy’s pride and joy; brothers, Freeman (Joyce), Wallace (Margaret); sister, Marion Feltham; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and very special loyal friend, Alma Newbury. Visitation took place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor, Sunday, June 1, 2008 and Monday, June 2, 2008. The funeral service was held Tuesday, June 3 at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Park Street Citadel with Maj. Sandra Stokes officiating. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family would like to express their gratitude for the exemplary care provided by the medical and nursing staff of 5 South A, CCU, OR and especially the CVICU of the Health Sciences Centre. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
