Ellen Constance Boothby was born in North Adelaide, South Australia on 11 April 1870. She was the daughter of William Boothby and Frances Lawrence.[1]
On 14 April 1909, Ellen married George Kensit Barnabas Norman at St. John's Church, Toorak, Victoria. The marriage was reported in The Argus on 21 April 1909:
NORMAN—BOOTHBY.—On the 14th April, at St. John's Church, Toorak, Victoria, by the Rev. C. E. Drought, George K. B., youngest son of Canon Norman, of Mistley-place, Manningtree, Essex, England, to Ellen Constance, younger daughter of the late William R. Boothby, C.M.C., and Mrs. Boothby, of Adelaide, South Australia.[2]
Ellen and her husband returned to England. In the England and Wales Census of 1911, they are recorded as residing at with George's parents at Mistley, Essex, England, United Kingdom.[3]
