Biography

Maria was baptized, old catholic, in Den Helder on the 28th of July, 1798, as the daughter of Cornelius Boots and Agatha Dirksdr. Kuhn.^[1]

She (23), living in Den Helder, married in Den Helder on the 18th of July, 1822, with Simon Harkes (24), mason's hand, born and living in Den Helder, son of Sijbrand Harkes and Martje Kneppel, both deceased. Witnesses at their marriage were Cornelis Boots, oud zeeman, father of the bride, Meindert Harkes, mason, uncle of the groom, Jan Harkes, carpenter, brother of the groom, and Leutje Brand, fisherman, and Jacob Brand, oud zeeman, as good friends, all living in Den Helder.^[2]
