He is definitely not born in Düsseldorf itself in 1845 (Birth registers Düsseldorf 1845, Stadtarchiv Düsseldorf checked 9 Aug 2023) The later incorporated places (Benrath, Heerdt, Gerresheim, Kaiserswerth, Rath) and Hilden (Eller, later part of Düsseldorf, in 1845 still part of Hilden) still have to be checked.
