Biography

Jane was born about 1728. She was the daughter of Robert Bowne and Margaret Latham. She passed away before 1765.

No apparent extant record of Jane's birth or death. There is a marriage to John Haydock 2 Mar 1751, from the New York Monthly Meeting, Hinshaw Quaker record.^[1]

The HInshaw entry for John Haydock: "s. Robert, late of Eng. (dec) [my note, probably incorrect], Rahway, NJ; m. between 2 Mo. 3 and 3 Mo (Mar) 2, 1751 (cert. not recorded) Jane BOWNE, dt Robert, N. Y."

The Hazard Index of Quaker records has an entry for John Haydock that the Flushing, NY meeting gct [granted certificate to] Woodbridge (Rahway/Plainfield) MM 5 Dec 1765. That Cert was received 18 Dec 1765.^[2][3]Estimating Jane's death as before 5 Dec 1765.
