Sarah Jane, daughter of tinsmith Thomas Boyle & Maggie Greene his wife, was born 18 Oct 1900 in Keady, Armagh, Ireland.[1]
in 1911, Sarah Boyle was living with her widowed mother & six siblings at 15 Victoria Street, Keady Urban, Armagh, where her mother & older siblings were working as millworkers.[2]
Sarah Boyle, daughter of smith Thomas Boyle, married laborer Peter Makem on 9 Jul 1918 at Keady.[3] Peter Makem was a fiddler, & Sarah Boyle Makem was a traditional singer whose songs were recorded by collectors traveling through Ireland. Among their children was folksinger Tommy Makem.[4]
Sarah Boyle Makem died 21 Apr 1983 in County Armagh, & was buried in St Patrick's Cemetery in Keady.[5]
