Walter was born in 1929. His mother's maiden name was Darrington.
Wally was a pressman working on Fleet Street, London during his working years. He met at married Edna, the sister of one of his work mates, Ronald Mattey.
Edna and Wally had two children, Richard and Fiona.
He passed away in 2023.
