Biography

Elisabeth Rawson was born in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England in 1813. She was baptised at St Mary's Church, Nottingham on 17th May 1813 to parents Joseph & Sarah Rawson of York Street, Nottingham.[1]

She married George Bramley at St Peter's Church, Radford, on 28th October 1836.[2]

On the 1841 census, George & Elizabeth Bramley lived at Bond Street, St Mary's, Nottingham. (see research note)[3] George Bramley died in 1843.

She then married Frederick Millhouse at St Mary's Church, Nottingham on 17th February 1844.[4][5] Frederick was a widower of Back Commons and a FWK. (framework knitter) His father was John Millhouse dec'd, FWK. Elizabeth was a widow of Sherwood Square. Her father was Joseph Rawson dec'd, FWK. Both were "of full age".[6]

On the 1851 census, Frederick and Elizabeth lived at Charlotte Street, Nottingham, with children Eliza, aged 4, and Frederick, aged 1, and a niece Mary Millhouse aged 24.[7]

Elizabeth died in March 1855[8] at Norfolk Street, Nottingham, and was buried at St Mary's Church, Nottingham on 1st April 1855, aged 41 years.[9]

Research Note

The 1841 census entry for Elizabeth and George lists them both as answering "no" to whether born in Nottinghamshire. Although this is wrong for Elizabeth, it's possible that the person speaking to the enumerator answered for themselves or did not know that Elizabeth was born in Nottingham. The address on the census entry (Bond Street) matches the address at death for George Bramley in 1843.Gibson-26492 06:14, 2 June 2023 (UTC)

I've added further information from Elizabeth's marriage to Frederick Millhouse that shows she was a widow at the time. Can you change her LNAB to RAWSON, please?
