"Braunche was a draper and, later, maltster of Abingdon. As early as 1566 he was a chief burgess who had already served as mayor. On 1 Mar. 1601 he gave his son Thomas his goods and chattels, reserving for himself only a small income and a chamber, and surrendering the right to make any bequests beyond those contained in the document; these were largely to his ‘surviving children and included a black gown and cloak to his ’unthrifty and disobedient son’ Lyonell. The will was proved 24 Apr. 1602."[1]
William Braunche was the mayor of Abingdon 1563 - 1564.[2]
"Of his generation, only William Braunche, by his wife Katherine Jennings, had issue whose story can be traced... William and Katherine had eleven children, four sons and seven daughters."[3]
The will of William Braunche was proven in 1602.[4][5]
